Basecamp 2025

We are off! Heading into the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. Burntside Lake is the location of base camp, near Ely, MN.

Travel Dates: 10-5-2025 to 10-12-2025

Basecamp Dates: 10-6-2025 to 10-11-2025

Travel – All people flying in from out of state can fly to Des Moines, and crash with Willie. You can arrive on the 4th/ EARLY 5th, or any earlier date if you want to hang for a few bonus days. All participants will ride in group vehicles. Two vehicles max.

October 5th: All groups will meet up and head to the location of our AirBNB rental, where we will spend the night drinking and getting up to no good as always. All parties MUST be present at the cabin on the 5th as we are leaving into the park on the 6th very early.

October 6th – 11th: We will enter the park from the Burntside lake dock/marina. We will be parking all vehicles at the marina and loading the boat. We will have one motor boat, and one two man canoe.

The canoe will be initially towed by the motor boat. After that, the canoe will be used for mini adventures. Please let me know if you have an interest in doing the mini adventures and we will see if we need to expand boats

October 11th: Pack it up and leave. We will head out in the early morning, and begin the drive back toward our respective areas. For anyone flying out, we will head directly to Ely for showers at Piragis Outfitters shower house. Get clean, change clothes and grab some food if we are good on time. Otherwise, we head home or to the airport as needed.

October 12th: Another opportunity to reach the airport, if you didnt have flights on 10-11.
